Apex Legends Season 18: Revenant Reborn and More

Apex Legends Season 18 Resurrection brings a plethora of changes to the game, promising a fresh and dynamic gaming experience. From revamped characters to weapon adjustments, Respawn Entertainment has left no stone unturned in its pursuit of enhancing player enjoyment. However, the highlight of this update is, as the name suggests, resurrection of one of the game’s legends – Revenant. Additionally, the update also aims to make the game more competitive by bringing in a new rank system.

Notably, the update is set to release today – 8th August, within a few hours, and the gamers are eagerly anticipating the influx of new content and improvements.

Apex Legends Season 18: Legend Update – Revenant

The developers have been teasing the changes coming to Revenant since the Apex Legends Season 18 trailer launched on 31st July. However, with the latest patch notes, they have completely unveiled all the changes coming to the legend. Surprisingly, Revenant’s entire ability set has been revamped. Furthermore, his class has also been changed to Skirmisher. Here are Revenant’s revamped abilities.

PASSIVE: Assassin’s Instinct

Highlight nearby visible enemies who are low on health. You crouch walk faster and have improved wall climbing.

TACTICAL: Shadow Pounce

Unleash a powerful pounce forwards. Hold to charge for farther distances.

ULTIMATE: Forged Shadows

Forge a shroud of hardened shadows around you that blocks direct damage and regenerates after breaking. Your shadows and tactical are refreshed on knockdowns.

Notably, the developers also announced that Revenant will be unlocked for all players, all-season long. Additionally, players can complete challenges by using Revenant throughout the season in order to unlock him permanently.

Season 18 Ranked Updates

In the latest ranked update for Apex Legends, significant changes have been introduced to the LP (Ladder Points) system, aiming to refine the competitive gameplay experience.

One of the pivotal changes involves the LP Table, where LP Gain has been overall reduced. This adjustment extends to the Diamond+ tier, where players will face increased losses of 50%. The changes in placement points highlight the evolution in scoring mechanics. Here’s a quick glance at how the points distribution has transformed:

Ring Updates

The behavior of the in-game ring across maps in the Battle Royale mode has been modified to enhance the pacing of the early and mid game phases. The adjustments include changes to the size, damage, and timings of the rings. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the updates:

Ring Size Changes:

  • Ring 1 has increased 10% in radius per map, resulting in ~20% larger Ring 1 surface area.
  • No other Ring sizes changed.

Ring Damage Changes

  • Ring 2 Damage increased from 3 per tick to 4 per tick.
  • Ring 4 Damage reduced from 20 per tick to 15 per tick.

Timing Changes

Round 1:

  • Preshrink time reduced from 90s to 75s.
  • Shrink speed on small Maps reduced from 167 to 160.
  • Shrink speed on large Maps reduced from ~180 to ~165.
  • Shrink time standardized to ~260s on each map.

Round 2:

  • Preshrink time reduced from 165s to 120s.
  • Shrink speed reduced from 160 to 140.
  • Shrink time increased by ~25s per map.

Round 3:

  • Preshrink time reduced from 135s to 90s.

Round 4:

  • Preshrink time reduced from 105s to 90s.
  • Shrink speed reduced from 100 to 85.
  • Shrink time increased from 40s to ~50s.

Round 5:

  • Preshrink time reduced from 90s to 75s.
  • Shrink speed reduced from 50 to 40.
  • Shrink time increased from 40s to 50s.

Maximum match length has been shortened 

  • Small maps: reduced to ~19.0 mins (was ~21.5 mins).
  • Large maps: reduced to ~20.0 mins (was ~22.5 mins).
